Kalona’s Fall Festival is set to reach a major milestone this week. The annual event, taking place Friday, September 23, and Saturday, September 24 hits the half-century mark in 2022.

The Fall Festival, which began as a fundraiser for the Kalona Historical Society offers live music, great food, like their famous apple fritters, and activities for all ages. Activities include, but are not limited to, wagon and pony rides, a cornhole tournament on Saturday, and for the first time, a firework show Friday night at 9:10.

Wristbands are needed for entry and can be purchased at the main entrance, located at the corner of 9th and D Avenue. Adult admission is 6 dollars, children between the ages of 5-12 can get their wristbands for 3 dollars, and children under the age of 4 are free. Wristbands will work for both days. Parking is available in the Sales Barn lot, with handicap parking running along D Avenue in front of the visitor’s center.
