The South East Iowa Super Conference begins begins action in its annual volleyball tournament tonight with pool play in four different locations. The Lone Tree Lions will host Pool One but are the second-to-last overall seed in the field. They’ll be welcoming in top-seeded West Burlington, as well as Mediapolis and Central Lee.
Burlington-Notre Dame is the number-two seed and will host Pool Two, which includes the Columbus Community Wildcats, Wapello, Danville and Louisa-Muscatine. The WACO Warriors and Hillcrest Academy Ravens head to New Harmony High School to take on New London and host Van Buren County in Pool Three. The Winfield-Mount Union Wolves scored the four seed and will host the Highland Huskies, Pekin and Holy Trinity Catholic in Pool Four.
The top two teams from each pool will advance to bracket play Saturday evening at Southeastern Community College in West Burlington. Burlington-Notre Dame brought home the tournament title last season. The road to the next Super Conference volleyball champion begins tonight at 5.
