hocus-pocus

The Washington Chamber of Commerce will host its annual Hocus Pocus in the Park event on October 8th at Central Park. Several crowd favorite activities like the Pumpkin Polaroid Booth and the costume contest will return. There will also be plenty of candy being handed out for children of all ages with a special Movies on Main Street showing of Hotel Transylvania capping of the night.

Volunteers are still needed for the event from 4:00-5:30 pm and 5:30-7:00 pm. Contact Alisha Davis at the Washington Chamber of Commerce if you can volunteer.

Davis, the Event Coordinator for the Chamber of Commerce, spoke with KCII about some additional support they are getting for this year’s event. “We are planning on doing everything from last year, but this year we have partnered with Relay for Life, and they’ll be doing a bags tournament. We also have food trucks coming in for the first time, and we plan on having more businesses coming in to set up more games for kids and families.”

Before the event, Relay for Life will be hosting several events before the event begins. From 1:00-3:00 pm, there will be time to recognize cancer survivors from around the area; at 3:00 pm, there will be a dessert auction. The Relay for Life bags tournament will be during Hocus Pocus in the Park from 4:00-7:00 pm, along with pumpkin decorating and a pumpkin rolling contest.

All these events will be at Washington’s Central Park. People that plan on attending are encouraged to bring a jacket and a blanket in the event of cold weather.
