On Monday, September 19th, the Keokuk County Board of Supervisors approved a contract with Christner Contracting for their Courthouse HVAC project.

The contract is worth $1,454,069 and is for heating and air conditioning upgrades.

The Highway Department also seeks to buy a new fuel pump. The county’s current fuel pump has been in place since the 1980s, making the materials needed to repair it scarce. Another problem with the pump is that a section of the line is exposed to sunlight, causing the fuel to boil into vapor and slow down. Something that the county has discussed attempting to counter by painting his pumps white.

The county plans to purchase from either Acterra Group or Seneca Companies for around $26,000. A new pump, nozzle, hose, and card reader will be included in the replacement.
