Thirty-seven-year-old Jamie Hunt of Washington has been charged with Arson in the First Degree, a Class B Felony, following an incident reported to the Washington Police Department on Friday, September 23rd. A Class B Felony can be punishable by up to 25 years in prison.
The Police Department received a report that Hunt had broken a window and thrown gasoline, and a lighter into an apartment at 2215 250th Street, that she knew was occupied by workers in the process of cleaning the apartment. There was no significant damage or injury reported. Hunt fled the area but later spoke to officers by telephone and made some admissions related to the incident. Charges were filed, and a warrant was issued for her arrest.
Hunt has been arrested and is currently being held in the Washington County Jail on a $25,000 cash-only bond. The Washington Police Department was assisted in the investigation by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and the Washington County Attorney’s Office.
