A strong offensive night was not enough to get the Highland Huskies their first win of the football season as they lost again 55-30 at Wapello Friday night. Being in a 14-0 hole after a quarter and a 28-point deficit at halftime was too much to overcome, but Highland moved the ball well thanks to starting quarterback Sage Hartley-Norman. The sophomore passed for 190 yards and three touchdowns and ran for 93 and a score. Senior wide receiver Ethan Paisely was the top target with seven catches for 124 yards and two TDs.

On defense, the Huskies struggled mightily, allowing Wapello senior Jake Gustison to run for 233 yards and four scores. They also yielded three long touchdown receptions by Gustison and Tyler Palmer, giving up a total of 506 yards. Junior Nicolas Oriano lead Highland with five tackles, including two tackles for loss. The Huskies fall to 0-6 as they prepare to host Lisbon this week.
