Louisa County Dispatch responded to a fatal accident Saturday, October 1, involving a semi-truck and loaded trailer. The accident occurred at approximately 2:25 p.m. near 5581 County Road X37 in Morning Sun.

According to the call, the semi-truck had rolled over, ejecting the driver and solo occupant from the cab. The driver, identified as 61-year-old James Ball was rushed to the Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.

The accident is under further investigation by the State Medical Examiner’s Office, the Iowa Department of Transportation, and the Louisa County Sheriff’s Office.
