The Highland football team will look to right the ship and get in the win column for the first time in 2022 when they host the Lisbon Lions Friday. The Huskies enter this week with an 0-6 record after a 55-30 loss at Wapello a week ago. Against the Indians, Highland quarterback Sage Hartley-Norman finished with 283 total yards, including 190 through the air with three passing scores and a rushing touchdown. Highland has been outscored this year 310-72 in total, working out to 51-12 per game. The Huskies average 218 yards of offense per game, 131 in the run game. Hartley-Norman is the leader on the ground and through the air with 879 all-purpose yards including 31 of 74 through the air for 516 yards, five touchdowns and seven interceptions, to go with 64 carries for 363 yards and three scoring runs. Peyton Yeggy also has two touchdown runs. Top receiver is Ethan Paisley with 16 grabs for 299 yards and four touchdowns. Yeggy also has a touchdown catch. Logan McFarland leads the Highland defense with 23 tackles, three for loss. In the takeaway department, Remington Fields and Tristin Richardson have each recovered a fumble.

Lisbon is back to .500 on the year at 3-3 coming in after back-to-back wins over Pekin and Wapello by a combined 95-12 score. Last week on Homecoming against the Panthers, quarterback Cohen Kamaus threw for 126 yards and a touchdown to Reid Fridley, also rushing for a score, while running back Baylor Speidel put up 102 yards on seven carries with a pair of rushing touchdowns. For the season, Lisbon is scoring 30 per night and giving up 22. They average 322 yards per game, 169 through the air. Senior quarterback Kamaus is 68 of 102 in the pass game for 980 yards, nine touchdowns to one interception. His favorite target is senior Luke Czarnecki with 20 catches 272 yards and four scores. On the ground, Kamaus has 80 carries 316 yards and six touchdowns. The Lions have 12 takeaways this year, eight picks and four fumble recoveries. Czarnecki and Dakota Clark each have two picks and Speidel has recovered two fumbles. These two teams have met six times in the last decade, with Lisbon winning five of those, including a 43-0 shut out a season ago. Action starts at 7p.m. Friday at Highland High School.
