The next chapter of the Lone Tree and Hillcrest Academy rivalry will play out on the volleyball court Thursday in Kalona. The Ravens come into the match with a 2-17 record this season, 0-7 in the Southeast Iowa Superconference, after a sweep at the hands of the Highland Huskies on their senior night in Riverside last week. For the year, the Ravens are led by freshman Claire Withrow with 88 assists, 10th in the Superconference, sophomore Malia Yoder with 86 digs and 67 kills and sophomore Kylee Statler with 31 aces, ninth in the SEISC and eight blocks.
Lone Tree is 4-18 this year, 2-6 in the Superconference. They were also a victim of Highland last time out, swept by the Huskies on Tuesday. For the year, the Lady Lions are led by senior Ella Buser with 142 assists, seventh in the Superconference. Senior Riley Krueger has a team best 139 digs, 10th in the Superconference. Her 101 kills are a team high and eighth in the league, and her 30 aces lead the way and are 10th in conference. Sophomore Rylee Shield has a team best 12 blocks. Hillcrest has won 18 of the last 24 in the series including a sweep of the Lady Lions at the Keota Tournament earlier this year. Action starts at 6:30p.m. at Hillcrest Union.
