The Washington County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report that a subject was turning themselves in at the Jail on a Washington County warrant. Eighteen-year-old John Michael Harrill of Crawfordsville was arrested for violating his pretrial release for his upcoming trial for felonious drug possession and misdemeanor weapons charges.

The original incident occurred in December of 2021 when a then 17-year-old Harrill was pulled over for speeding, and the officer noticed an odor of marijuana coming from Harrill’s vehicle. Upon search of the vehicle, 25.87 grams of marijuana were found along with .28 grams of cocaine, a package of 10 THC gummies, seven pills of Alprazolam, a filet knife over six inches, and a black revolver handgun. The firearm was directly under the middle seat, within arm’s reach of Harrill.

Harrill was released without bail upon the promise of no future violations, his appearance at all hearings, and no future drug or alcohol use. Harrill violated his pretrial release multiple times by failing to complete his Substance Abuse Evaluation, failing his pretrial drug test seven times, and was arrested by the Washington Police Department for Public Intoxication and Disorderly Conduct – Fighting/Violent Behavior.

Harrill was booked into the Washington County Jail and has been issued a $5,000 cash-only bond. KCII will bring you more information as it becomes official.
