Community Action of Southeast Iowa has received funding from Early Childhood Iowa to help eligible families pay for their child’s preschool costs.
To qualify, families must live in Washington, Henry, or Louisa County. Children must be 3-5 years old as of September 15, 2022, and families must meet the income eligibility requirements. Families below the minimum income guidelines must first apply for Head Start if one is located in their community.
Families with a 4-year-old as of September 15th must apply for the free Statewide Voluntary Preschool Program, if one is available in their community. Children four years of age must first be denied or on a waiting list for the local school district’s free preschool program to be eligible for a scholarship.
Scholarships are paid on a monthly basis, and applications must be completed and sent to the Community Action Office by the end of the month to be eligible for that month. If scholarship applications are approved, families will be responsible for a co-pay. For additional information on eligibility guidelines and applications, contact the Community Action Office at 319-753-0193, or visit the link in the story at KCIIradio.com.
