The WACO Warriors volleyball team knocked off the Columbus Community Wildcats in straight sets Thursday night. WACO rolled to a 25-8 victory in the first set and never slowed down, winning the next two sets 25-13 and 25-18.
Warriors senior setter Grace Coble made her presence felt with nine kills, 26 assists and two aces. Senior outside hitter Ellah Kissell had team highs of 12 kills, two aces and 15 digs. Junior Marie Farmer also had a solid night with five kills, two aces and seven digs.
WACO improves to 21-4 overall and 6-1 in the Super Conference North division. Columbus falls to 3-4 in conference play and 5-19 overall. While the Wildcats will next play at Pekin Tuesday, the Warriors will participate in the Washington Tournament today.
