The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk volleyball team continues to be a mainstay in the Class 3A poll issued by the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union. The Golden Hawks are No. 11 for the second straight week. Mid-Prairie is 19-9 overall and 5-1 in the River Valley Conference. The Hawks went 2-3 over the weekend at the Clear Creek Amana tournament with wins over Iowa Valley and Central DeWitt and losses to No. 2 in Class 4A North Scott, No. 5 in Class 3A Union, La Porte City and No. 10 in Class 4A CCA. On the year, Mid-Prairie is ninth in Class 3A with 1,271 digs on the season. Individual leaders include sophomore libero Dakota Mitchell with 464 digs, second in the state. Senior Landry Pacha has a team best 286 assists and 187 kills, seventh and sixth in the River Valley Conference respectively. Pacha’s 94.4% mark from the service line is also best on the team and sixth in the league with a team best 32 aces, seventh in conference. Senior Ella Groenewold has a team best 60 blocks, second in the RVC.

The Golden Hawks will compete next on Thursday at the River Valley South Division Championship Tournament at Wilton High School. First serves are at 5p.m.
