Tuesday night, the Hillcrest Academy Raven volleyball team went the distance, getting the win in Letts over Louisa-Muscatine in five sets. Hillcrest scored their first Southeast Iowa Superconference victory of the season by scores of 25-13, 20-25, 25-13, 14-25 and 15-9. Leaders for the Ravens included 29 assists for freshman Clare Withrow, 17 kills and 14 digs for sophomore Malia Yoder, 14 kills and six aces for sophomore Kylee Statler, 11 digs for freshman Niva Helmuth and 10 digs for sophomore Erin Bontrager. After the victory, Hillcrest is now 1-8 in league play and 4-23 overall. They are next on the court Monday in the opening round of regionals at New London to face the Tigers.
