The WACO Warriors volleyball team finished a fantastic regular season in style, winning in straight sets on Senior Night against the Highland Huskies yesterday. WACO took the first set 25-12 from a surging Highland team that had won four of their previous five matches, but the Warriors never gave ground, winning each of the final two sets by a score of 25-14.

Senior outside hitter Ellah Kissell finished with a team-high 10 kills and added 13 digs and two aces. Junior hitter Marie Farmer covered plenty of ground with seven kills, four aces, two digs and a block. Junior middle hitter Emma Wagler dominated at the net with six kills and seven blocks, while junior right side Zoey Dennler came off the bench to pick up three blocks and senior Katie Leichty added four kills and two aces.

WACO concludes the regular season with only one conference loss and a 25-6 record overall. The Warriors still earned the second seed in 1A-Region 8 for their efforts, and they’ll begin their postseason journey by hosting Melcher-Dallas Monday night. Highland finishes the regular season 12-14 and draws the number-five seed in 1A-Region 7. The Huskies will hope to recapture their late-season momentum when they host Tri-County in win-or-stay-home time Monday evening.
