The Washington County Sheriff’s Department responded to a call yesterday that a wanted subject out of Washington County had been located. Fifty-year-old Charles William Lincoln of Cedar Rapids was arrested on a Washington County warrant for failure to appear for arraignment on his original charges of Third-Degree Theft and Third-Degree Burglary, a Class D Felony.

The original incident occurred on August 25th when the Sheriff’s Office received notification that a Riverside residence was broken into and burglarized. An image of Lincoln breaking into the residence was obtained. During a routine patrol at the Riverside Casino and Golf Course, a silver truck was seen in the parking lot with several items from the residence inside the truck. After observing the items and corroborating images with Casino security, a deputy approached Lincoln. He confirmed that it was him in the photo and was arrested.

A warrant was issued for his arrest after missing his arraignment hearing on September 23rd. Lincoln was transported to the Washington County Jail and has been issued a $5,000 cash-only bond, and the initial hearing will be October 21st at 11:00 am on the second floor of the Washington County Courthouse. KCII will bring you more information as it becomes official.
