The football season will come to an end Friday for the Highland Huskies when they travel to Pekin to meet the Panthers on their Senior Night. Highland is 0-7 on the year after a 48-8 loss against Lisbon last week in Riverside. Against the Lions, the Huskies were led by Sage Hartley-Norman with a 14 carry 61 yard night on the ground with Highland’s lone touchdown. Colten Sypherd had a two point conversion. On defense, Peyton Yeggy had a team best six tackles with Jack Peiffer and Jackson Keller each recovering a fumble. On the season, the Huskies are giving up 51 points per game while scoring 11 with a total margin of 358-80. The Huskies average 205 yards per game, 129 of that on the ground. Individual leaders include Hartley-Norman with 940 all-purpose yards including 424 rushing yards on 78 carries with four touchdowns. Yeggy also has two rushing scores. Through the air, Hartley-Norman is 31 of 84 for 516 yards, five touchdowns and 11 interceptions. Ethan Paisley has 16 catches for 299 yards and four scores. Logan McFarland has a team best 23 tackles, three for loss. Remington Fields, Tristin Richardson, Jack Peiffer and Jackson Keller have each recovered a fumble.

Pekin is 2-5 this season. The Panthers were beaten at home by Belle Plaine last week 42-7. They were outgained 310-34 in total including 301 to -20 on the ground. The Panthers lone touchdown was a Luke Long pass to Will Adam. The Panthers are scoring 16 points per game and giving up 30. They average 200 yards per game, 146 rushing. Long is the leader for Pekin with 735 all-purpose yards including 371 rushing yards on 93 carries with four touchdowns. Cade Bemis also has four rushing touchdowns. Through the air, Long is 23 of 60 for 364 yards and five touchdowns. Top receiving target is Adam with 10 catches for 149 yards and three touchdowns. Jaedon Wolver has caught two scores. Blake Juhl has a team best 50 tackles. The Panthers have forced seven takeaways this year. Highland has won three straight in the series, including a 49-14 victory last year. The Panthers last win came in 2011. Action starts at 7p.m. Friday in Packwood.
