Members of the Mid-Prairie School Board met in regular session this week. Facilities data was presented during the work session highlighting the academic impact, safety impact, and want vs. need of potential improvements at the Mid-Prairie campus. While no plans for improvements are set at this time, Superintendent Brian Stone commented that the intention of the data was transparency.
“I think it’s important to make sure that we can make as informed decisions as possible.” Stone said. “This type of information is just making that accessible to the board so that we can then put some strategic planning in place so that we can move forward in a positive and corrective manner for our students and staff.”
A contract was approved regarding improvements to the lights at the softball field. Initial plans are to have the project completed prior to the softball season next year. In addition, the board approved a pay increase for substitute teachers effective October 16, 2022.
The Mid-Prairie Board of Education’s next meeting will be held Monday, October 24 at 6:15 p.m. in the school’s Central Office Community Room.
