The WACO Warriors football team is in a position to chase some milestones instead of worrying about their playoff fate this Friday night when they visit Tri-County. WACO has secured a regular-season 8-Player District 6 title and a pair of home games to start the postseason. Now the 7-0 Warriors try to go undefeated in the regular season for the second straight year. Senior Simeon Reichenbach needs 95 rushing yards to reach 1,000 for the season and has 23 total touchdowns. Senior quarterback Isaac Oswald is just shy of 1,100 yards passing and has thrown multiple TDs in each of the last two games, three to senior wide receiver Oleh Shtefanchuk. Eight of Oswald’s 17 scoring throws have gone to Shtefanchuk for a WACO offense that is averaging just under 49 points per game.

On defense, the Warriors harass and hassle the opposing backfield all night. Senior lineman Colton Leichty has 13 tackles for loss and six sacks, nearly half of the team’s sack total. Senior Ty Egil has also come on strong of late with nine tackles for loss and four sacks. Senior Drew Diers’ 66 total stops leads a defense that has 58 tackles for loss and 23 total takeaways.

That ability to cause chaos will be crucial as WACO will deal with a talented quarterback in Tri-County’s Eli Molyneaux. The senior has passed for over 800 yards and rushed for almost 470 while accounting for 15 touchdowns. Top sophomore target Levi Molyneaux has also been a dangerous receiver with 30 catches for 334 yards and four TDs. The WACO Warriors have won the previous four meetings and look to keep rolling Friday evening starting at 7.
