At the October 4th City Council meeting, Mayor Rosien confirmed that Halloween trick-or-treating would take place on its usual date of October 31st. Rosien said that the reason that trick-or-treating is staying on Halloween in Washinton is that it causes the least amount of confusion and is what has always worked best.
Washington Police Chief Jim Lester talked with KCII Radio about some safety tips everyone can follow during Halloween. “We encourage parents talk to their kids about crossing the street at intersections and not going between parked cars. For those that’ll be driving around, we advise them to always be alert for the extra kids crossing the street. Always give yourself some extra time to get where you’re going and always remain alert of your surroundings.”
