On Wednesday, October 19th, the Goodwin Dining Center in Wellman will partner with Bender’s Bar and Grill to offer customers the opportunity to stop by Bender’s and enjoy a prime rib special as well as orders from the menu, with a portion of the proceeds benefiting the dining center. You can dine in or take out.

The Goodwin Dining Center serves a $7 home-cooked meal weekdays at 12:00pm. They also hold fundraisers for the dining center and community. But things have changed this year, and as city administrator of Wellman Kelly Litwiller explained to KCII News, “We used to do a fundraiser with a partnership with another entity that was outside of our community, and I had ran it past the commission members and said you know right now in time of need of people trying to get back on their feet, and businesses after the last couple of years, that we thought it would be a great time to reach out to our local restaurants here in town and try it and see how it works. This is our first one, so we are going to try it and see how it goes. And if it works well, we’ll do it again.”

In addition, Litwiller hopes to use this event to enhance awareness of the dining center and local businesses.
