The Lone Tree Lion football team saw their 2022 come to an end Friday night with a loss to visiting Iowa Valley 36-22. The Tigers held a slim 8-6 advantage after one quarter and the score remained the same at halftime. The Tigers outscored the Lions 12-8 in the third and 16-8 in the fourth to pull away for the win. Iowa Valley outgained Lone Tree 365 to 239 in the game including 140 to 0 through the air. Evan Kearney had four touchdowns for the Tigers. Maddox Jondle led the Lone Tree attack with 35 carries for 198 yards and a pair of scores. Drew Gauley had a 63 yard kick return for score on special teams. Joe Boxwell led the Lion defense with 11 and a half tackles. Lone Tree ends their season at 3-5.
