WACO Warrior football is still flying high, as the second-ranked Warriors finished off the regular season with a 42-10 victory at Tri-County this past Friday night. WACO was up 22-0 after a quarter of play and never looked back.
Everybody got in on the act for the Warrior offense. Sophomore Louden Huisenga finished with a team-high 114 rushing yards and two touchdowns on five carries, one of four WACO players to score a TD on the ground. Senior Mason Miller also had a six-yard catch for a score, part of only 241 yards of total offense that the Warriors needed to roll to the victory.
On defense, the Warriors limited Tri-County to only 40 yards, with no player accumulating more than 2-and-a-half tackles. Senior Ty Egil had two tackles for loss and a sack. WACO improves to 9-0 for the second straight season. The Warriors now begin their march to the UNI Dome with the first round of the 8-player playoffs against Martensdale-St. Marys this coming Friday evening.
