The Bettendorf Police Department reported to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office that they were on scene with a subject that was wanted out of Washington County. Fifty-year-old Trevor Gast was arrested for pre-trial violations for his two charges of Third-Degree Burglary, a Class D Felony, and a charge of Fourth-Degree Theft.

A warrant was issued for Gast’s arrest on October 10th after he failed to make contact with the Department of Correctional Services on three separate occasions. Gast was arrested in July in Washington County and charged with third-degree burglary after he unlocked a side door to a residential garage attached to a Riverside condo and entered the garage looking for items to steal.

Gast was also arrested in Iowa City in September after officers observed him entering cars that weren’t his. When confronted by officers, Gast admitted that he entered two unlocked cars and was looking for items to steal.

Gast has been issued a cash-only bond of $24,000, and a detainer order has been placed with the Scott County Jail. KCII will bring you more information as it becomes official.
