A pair of Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk football seniors are writing their names into the program record books.

Running back Braden Hartley just crossed the 1,000 yard rushing mark for 2022 in the team’s regular season finale last week against Davis County. He has a career total of 1,754, just 25 yards behind 2017 grad Keaton Duwa’s 1,779 for 10th in program history. He collected a pair of rushing scores in the game, running his career touchdown total to 24, tying him for ninth all-time with Eesaa Baylor, class of 2012.

Wide receiver Cain Brown has 747 career receiving yards, putting him seventh all-time in Mid-Prairie history. His two catch 49 yard performance last week against the Mustangs moved him passed Josh Kral class of 2003, Terrhyn Jacoby class of 2017 and Josh Berry class of 2004. His one scoring grab on Friday gives him seven for his career, tying him for eighth on the career list with Clayton Hershberger class of 1973 and Tyler Griffith class of 2003. His two catches last week also broke a tie between him and his dad Stacy, class of 1997, with 43 for 14th all-time.

Brown and Hartley will look to continue to rewrite the record books as Mid-Prairie opens the playoffs Friday night on the road at Northeast Goose Lake. You can hear all of the action between the Hawks and Rebels live on AM 1380, FM 102.5 and KCIIradio.com, beginning with the Washington HyVee Pregame Show at 6:30 and kickoff from Goose Lake at 7p.m.
