Yesterday was the first day that all registered Iowans could begin casting their ballots for the 2022 general election with the start of the absentee voting period. The deadline for absentee ballot requests is Monday, October 24th, with the Washington County Auditor’s Office open until 5:00 pm that day. The Washington County Auditor’s Office has also released a list of polling places for the upcoming general election.

Polling places for the elections are:

Ainsworth Elementary School for the Ainsworth Precinct

Brighton Community Building for the Brighton Precinct

Kalona Community Building for the Kalona Precinct

Holy Trinity Parish Hall for the Richmond Precinct

Washington Community YMCA for the Ward 1 Precinct

First Assembly of God for the Ward 2 Precinct

United Presbyterian Home for the Ward 3 Precinct

Halcyon House for the Ward 4 Precinct

Parkside Activities Center for the Wellman Precinct
