On Sunday, October 16 at approximately 12:37 a.m. the Louisa County Sheriff’s Office received a call from an individual stating that he had just been robbed at gunpoint by a male and female inside a residence at 140 West Louisa Street in Letts. 

The individual was reportedly at the residence to obtain a THC vape pen from the female subject, 18-year-old Macey Todd, when the male, 20-year-old Ryan Staats, entered the room with an AR-15 style rifle. The victim was then struck with the muzzle of the rifle and robbed of his money, credit cards, identification, and other personal items. Meanwhile, Todd pulled out a knife and attempted to delete information off the victim’s phone. Following the robbery, further threats were made to kill the victim’s family if further funds were not provided. 

After receiving a warrant, Louisa County Sheriff’s Office conducted a search of the residence on October 17 at approximately 9:18 a.m. The stolen items were located, along with the perpetrated rifle, THC cartridges, approximately 83 grams of THC wax, marijuana, and further items relating to narcotic distribution. 

Todd and Staats were taken into custody at different locations, where they were both charged with first-degree armed robbery, a class B felony, extortion, a class D felony, possession of controlled substances with intent to deliver, a class D felony, drug tax stamp violations, a class D felony, and assaults with a dangerous weapon, an aggravated misdemeanor. Todd and Staats are currently being held at the Louisa County Jail on $50,000 cash-only bonds. 

The Louisa County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Louisa County Ambulance Service. The Louisa County Attorney’s Office is assisting with the investigation.
