On Friday, October 28, the city of Columbus Junction is holding their city-wide cleanup day. Residents are asked to set out their items by 7 a.m. Friday to ensure a smooth pick-up. 

E-waste items and appliances will require a tag in order to be picked up. Tags can be purchased at city hall. Tags for appliances and televisions are $15 and computer monitors tags are $10. Other e-waste items including printers, fax machines, VCRs, DVD players, video game consoles, servers, scanners, converter boxes, and cable receivers require $2 tags. Residents are asked to separate metals, appliances, furniture, and e-waste items. 

Prohibited items, or anything in garbage bags will not be picked up. Prohibited items include tires, batteries, paint, paint cans, hazardous materials, chemicals, spray cans, glass items, wood, and building materials.
