On October 19, at approximately 4 p.m. Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office was requested to assist the Iowa State Patrol and US Marshals in a high-speed chase. The vehicle, driven by 22-year-old Sean Diantae Frost of Kansas City, Missouri, was traveling westbound on Highway 34 at speeds in excess of 120 mph.
Jefferson County deputies spotted the vehicle near Lockridge and began pursuit towards Fairfield. Frost lost control of the vehicle near exit 214, where he crossed the median and entered the opposite side of the highway. When the vehicle came to rest on the shoulder, he exited the vehicle and fled on foot.
A perimeter was set up by the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office and Fairfield Police Department on farmland and timber southeast of Fairfield. At approximately 7:12 p.m. Frost was located and arrested.
Frost is being held in the Jefferson County Jail on charges of interference with official acts while armed with a firearm, a class D felony, eluding, an aggravated misdemeanor, excessive speed, and reckless driving. A firearm was located during the search for Frost and was seized. He is being held on a $10,000 cash-only bond.
Frost also has pending charges of unlawful use/possession of a weapon in Clay County, Missouri, resisting arrest creating substantial risk of injury/death in Cooper County, Missouri. He is also wanted on charges of aggravated assault/criminal discharge of a firearm in Johnson County, Kansas.
The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office was assisted in the apprehension by Iowa State Patrol, Fairfield Police Department, US Marshals, Iowa State Patrol Air Wing, Jefferson County Conservation, Burlington Police Department, Henry County Sheriff’s Office, Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office Drone Unit, and the Henry County Sheriff K9 Unit.
