The Washington County Conservation Board met at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 13th.

The WCC Board discussed the English River Water Trail. The project would be a water trail from Wellman to Kalona to Riverside, where it would feed into the Iowa River. 

While the board did not endorse the project at the meeting, they discussed proceeding with the project via a formal resolution.

The project’s ultimate goal would be to have all of the communities collaborate on it. The WCC recognizes that if the project works out, it can lead to a variety of funding sources that could be used to improve boat ramps and other water vehicle access points.
