At the September 18th Washington City Council meeting, the council approved sending an updated agreement back to the YMCA Board of Directors for review and possible approval. The YMCA Board of Directors will meet on Monday to discuss the issue.
The new agreement deals with the management of the outdoor pool. After City Administrator Deanna McCusker recommended that the YMCA be allowed to continue its management of the pool, the council unanimously agreed to send an updated agreement back to the YMCA for review.
Washington Mayor Jaron Rosien spoke with KCII Radio about some of the changes that were made to the new agreement. “These were minor adjustments that didn’t really change the main part of the agreement. With the exception of the three-year funding cycle, the initial suggestion that went to the YMCA board came back with an adjustment and was deliberated on by the council and was passed unanimously.”
Amy Schulte, the CEO of the Washington YMCA, was also in attendance at the meeting to answer questions that council members had. The next meeting of the Washington City Council will be November 1st at 6:00 pm in the Council Chambers at Washington City Hall.
