The last October Powerful Tools for Caregivers class sponsored by the Iowa State Extension and Outreach Office and Moore’s Towing will be this Thursday at Halcyon House in Washington. These free classes are designed to empower family caregivers to take better care of themselves by offering tools and support to help reduce stress, solve problems, and communicate confidently when faced with tough decisions.
Dawn Dunnegan, a Human Sciences Specialist, talked with KCII Radio and said that those who might not have been able to attend one of the earlier classes are still welcome to attend. “What I hear so often is that many people don’t know if they can do these classes that are weeks away. I always try to let them know that sometimes things come up, and we want them to come back to these classes, and we understand that things do come up.”
Each class will begin at 10:00 am in the Marshall Game Room at Halcyon House located at 1015 South Iowa Ave in Washington.
