Halloween is this upcoming Monday, and Washington is set to host multiple events for this year’s festivities. The United Presbyterian Church in Washington will host its second annual Trunk or Treat event on Monday, October 31, from 6:00-7:00 pm, on the north side of the church. Washington First Assembly will also be hosting its Once Upon a Time Harvest Festival with inflatables, games, puppet shows & giveaways from 5:00-7:00 pm.
Citywide trick-or-treating for Washington is scheduled to start at 6:00 pm. Washington Police Chief Jim Lester says drivers need to keep a keen eye on the road with all the extra foot traffic around the area. “Watch for kids to be crossing in-between vehicles, so while we want everyone to cross at the crosswalks, we know that kids get excited and dash between cars. So drive extra slow while you’re driving around residential areas and when you’re backing out of the driveway, make sure that the area around you is clear.”
