The Community Foundation of Washington County (CFWC) will host its Thirteenth Annual Chef Spotlight Fundraising Dinner on Monday, November 14th, at 5:30 pm at the Wooden Wheel Winery in Keota. Tickets for the event can be purchased for $50 from any Community Foundation Board member, with contact information at the bottom of the article.
The Chef being highlighted at this year’s dinner will be Corey Evans of Wellman, who will be preparing the meal with locally sourced ingredients. Millie Youngquist, a member of the Community Foundation Board, talked with KCII about this year’s chef. “Corey Evans is going to be our featured chef, he now works at Mid-Prairie Schools, and he teaches culinary classes and is the director of their food service. He’s also been a cook and a chef at various restaurants in Washington. He is a very talented chef with a lot of experience and has come up with a great menu.”
There will also be a Dessert Auction at this year’s event with pies, cakes, and other special treats donated by local restaurants, bakeries, and individuals. These will be auctioned off in a live auction as the final course; the proceeds will benefit HACAP and the Community Foundation of Washington County.
Ticket sales are limited, and tickets must be purchased by November 7th. Contact information to buy tickets is provided at the bottom of the article.
