Mid-Prairie’s Braden Hartley finished his football career with impressive numbers that place him alongside the best in program history. The senior running back finished tied for fourth in school history with a five touchdown performance against Eddyville-Blakesburg on September 16th, 2022. He’s matched by several players in that number including Adam Kos, Sean Thornton, Josh Berry, Josh Boone, Tanner Miller, Brody Barthelman, Ricky Vargas and Kayden Reinier. His 1,398 yards on the ground in 2022 are the seventh most all-time in a single season in program history. This places him in front of Vargas’ 2016 season of 1,304 and just behind Jordan Montgomery’s 2004 with 1,413 yards.
Hartley finished with 25 career touchdowns, ninth most in a Golden Hawk Uniform. Putting him in front of 2013 grad Eesaa Baylor’s 24 and behind class of 2005s Berry with 26. His 150 career points are the 10th most in program history, edging out Baylor and behind ninth place Berry’s 156. His 1,989 career rushing yards are also 10th in Mid-Prairie history, ahead of class of 2017s Keaton Duwa with 1,779 and just behind Mikel Yauk’s 1,996 from 1991.
Mid-Prairie ended their season in the second round of the Class 2A playoffs with a 6-4 overall record.
