With the election approaching, congressional candidate Christina Bohannan is touring 20 counties across Southeast Iowa. That tour made its way to Washington on Friday, November 4.

Bohannan sat down with several residents at Cafe Dodici yesterday to discuss the issues that they place significant importance on. The conversation ranged from the state’s water quality, to education, and firearms, among other topics.

Traveling through these counties that have historically voted Republican stems from Bohannan’s platform, centered on bipartisanship.

“The divisiveness that we’re seeing in our country right now, and the misinformation are some of the biggest threats that we’ve seen. So I think it’s really important to go to places where there are people who probably don’t agree with me.” Bohannan said. “We have to have those conversations and we have to get back to a point where we are talking to each other rather than fighting.”

Following her visit to Washington, Bohannan also made stops in Marengo, Keosauqua, Mount Pleasant, and Fairfield.
