Today is election day for the 2022 Mid-Term Elections, and all polls in Iowa will open up at 7:00 am and will be open until 8:00 pm. The Washington County Auditor’s Office has also released a list of polling places for the upcoming general election.
Polling places for the elections are:
Ainsworth Elementary School for the Ainsworth Precinct
Brighton Community Building for the Brighton Precinct
Kalona Community Building for the Kalona Precinct
Holy Trinity Parish Hall for the Richmond Precinct
Washington Community YMCA for the Ward 1 Precinct
First Assembly of God for the Ward 2 Precinct
United Presbyterian Home for the Ward 3 Precinct
Halcyon House for the Ward 4 Precinct
Parkside Activities Center for the Wellman Precinct
More information about precinct designation and polling place addresses can be found at the bottom of the article, along with a list of candidates. Washington County Auditor Dan Widmer talked with KCII Radio and listed everything people need to vote in person today and if they can still drop off their absentee ballots.
“They will need to provide a photo ID, and for most registered voters, that will be their current driver’s license. If people still have an absentee ballot that was sent to them in the mail, they can still turn it in; I wouldn’t recommend mailing it because it’s too late. They can drop those off here at the auditor’s office in the courthouse, and they must get them in by 8:00 pm. The courthouse is no longer a polling place, but we will be open until 8:00 pm for people that want to drop off their absentee ballots that were mailed to them.”
