As of 3 p.m. Wednesday, November 9th, these are the reported 2022 Iowa mid-term election returns. 

In local elections, Republican Adrian Dickey is the projected winner for Iowa Senate District 44, receiving 66.6 percent of vote, while his opponent, Democrat Rich Taylor received 33.4 percent. In District 46, Republican Dawn Driscoll is the projected winner with 54 percent of the vote, opposed by Democrat Kevin Kinney, who received 46 percent of the vote. In the Iowa House District 87 race, Republican Jeff Shipley is projected to win with 55.7 percent of the vote. His challenger, incumbent Democrat Mike Heaton received 44.5 percent of the votes. In the district 88 race Republican Helena Hayes is the projected winner with 74 percent of the vote, her challenger, Democratic candidate Lisa Ossian received 26 percent of the vote. The projected winner for District 91 is Republican Brad Sherman, who received 58.5 percent of the vote, his challenger, Democrat Elle Wyant received 41.5 percent of the vote. In District 92, Republican Heather Hora received 59.7 percent of the vote and is the projected winner. Eileen Beran, the Democratic challenger, received 40.3 percent of the vote. 

There were several local candidates who ran unopposed. Washington County Board of Supervisors elections saw Marcus Fedler running unopposed in District 3, and Richard Young in District 5. Other unopposed Washington County candidates included Jeffrey A. Garrett for Treasurer, Teresa Mangold for Recorder, and John Gish for Attorney. The Iowa House saw Democrat Dave Jacoby running unopposed in District 86, and Republican Taylor Collins running unopposed in District 95. 

In statewide and federal elections, incumbent candidate Republican Kim Reynolds is the projected winner for Governor, with 58.1 percent of the vote. Her opponent, Democrat Deidre DeJear received 39.6 percent of the vote. Republican Paul D. Pate is the projected winner for Secretary of State, receiving 60.1 percent of the vote versus the 39.9 percent received by Democrat Joel Miller. Incumbent candidate Republican Mike Naig is the projected winner for Secretary of Agriculture with 61.2 percent of the vote versus 38.8 percent for Democrat John Norwood. Republican Roby Smith is the projected winner for Treasurer of State with 51.3 percent of the vote, with Democrat Michael L. Fitzgerald at 48.7 percent. With 98.54 percent of the vote reported, Republican challenger for Attorney General Brenna Bird has 50.8 percent of the vote with incumbent Democrat Tom Miller at 49.2 percent. Miller has conceded the race. At this time, the race for Auditor of State between Democrat Rob Sand and Republican Todd Halbur is deemed to be ‘too close to call’.

Incumbent U.S. Senate Republican candidate Chuck Grassley received 56.1 percent of the vote as the projected winner over challenger Democrat Michael Franken who received 43.9 percent of the vote. In the U.S. House of Representatives District 1 race, incumbent Republican Mariannette Miller-Meeks is the projected winner with 53.3 percent of the vote over challenger Democrat Christina Bohannan with 46.7 percent. In House District 2, Republican Ashley Hinson is the projected winner with 54.1 percent of the turnout versus 45.9 percent for Democrat Liz Mathis. Republican Zach Nunn is projected to win the U.S. House District 3 with 50.3 percent of the votes over challenger incumbent Democrat Cindy Axne at 49.7 percent. In House District 4 Republican Randy Feenstra is the projected winner with 67.4 percent of the vote. Democratic candidate Ryan Melton received 30.4 percent of the vote.
