A successful 2022 football season ended for the Sigourney-Keota Cobras Friday as they fell to the Van Meter Bulldogs 45-0 in the 1A quarterfinals.

The defending state champions were too much to handle for the Cobras, who started their season 0-2, before rattling off six straight regular season wins en route to a district title. After two impressive playoff wins, SK earned its third consecutive quarterfinal appearance.

Sigourney-Keota is graduating nine seniors including DJ Hammes, Karson Weber, Aidan Anderson, Jack Clarahan, Cole Clarahan, Clay Morse, Matt Brainard, Clayton Visser and Carter McCoid.
