Main Street Washington is sponsoring the Lights of Love- Memory Tree Dedication in Central Park on November 26th during the Holiday SNOW Lighting Ceremony and Lighted Holiday Parade in Washington. Each tree purchased will cost $100, and the proceeds will help support Main Street Washington’s revitalization efforts in Historic Downtown and are a tax-deductible donation.

Those who purchase a tree can decorate and personalize their tree to honor someone of their choosing. Maddie Widmer, the Board President for Main Street Washington, recommends that those who choose to decorate their tree use shatterproof decorations as these trees will be on display outside during the holiday season.

Widmer talked with KCII and said that those who get their tree request in by the November 12th deadline would have an additional personalization touch added to their tree. “Folks can reserve their trees until November 19th or until we have all of our reservations filled. However, if you get in your registration before November 12th, your tree will actually have a personalized wooden plaque that will be put into the ground right next to your Christmas Tree. So, we recommend that everyone get their registrations in before that November 12th deadline.”

Each honoree will be announced during the ceremony as the memorial trees, and Downtown Washington will be illuminated during the November 26th ceremony. For more information about Lights of Love, contact the Main Street Office at the Washington Chamber of Commerce.
