The Washington County Sheriff’s Office received a call yesterday from a subject saying they had located tires that were potentially stolen from their vehicle. When the subject confronted the operator of the vehicle with the potentially stolen tires, a pursuit occurred, and an incident happened at the intersection of Highway 1 and Highway 78 in Keokuk County,

Moore’s Towing and the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene, and the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office took possession of the vehicle operator on local warrants. There are currently charges pending for First-Degree Theft, a Class C Felony, and Possession of a Controlled Substance Third or Subsequent Offense, a Class D Felony.

The subject is not to be released until they can provide a valid driver’s license and valid proof of insurance. KCII will bring you more information as it becomes official.
