The Golden Hawk girls wrestling team made school history at the BGM tournament last week, winning the program’s first team tournament championship. The Hawks took the title with a team score of 118, besting a group of grapplers from the Des Moines Public School circuit that finished with 116 points. The Hawks were led by a pair of champions. This week’s JET Physical Therapy Athlete of the Week Gabi Robertson reached the top of the podium at 100lbs with a sudden victory win 4-2 over Lily Webster of Colfax Mingo. At 170lbs, Mia Garvey got gold with a 4-2 win over Kayte Yaw of Des Moines. The Hawks also had Ashlee Farrier and Ellie Brenneman finish as runners-up.
