It was a big day for individual titles for the Mid-Prairie girls wrestling team at the West Liberty Tournament Monday. Five Golden Hawks found their way to the top of the podium. Gabi Robertson won the 105lb bracket. This week’s KCII JET Physical Therapy Athlete of the Week beat North Scott’s Avala Faber in the finals by fall in 1:29.
Ellie Brenneman rolled through the 140lb weight class, pinning her way to the title including a finals fall over Mady Emmett of Fort Madison in just 40 seconds.
In the 140lbB division, Grace Conway was a champion posting two match pinfalls totaling less than a minute including a win over Vivian Cardona of West Liberty in the title bout in just 30 seconds.
In the 145lbD division, Marissa Cline won the title with a 2-0 day, pinning her way to the finals before winning gold via injury default.
Sam Stacey took gold at 235lbs, scoring both wins by fall including a championship match victory over Angalina Taylor of Muscatine in 1:37.
