The Hillcrest Academy boys basketball team took the court for the final time in the preseason Saturday, hosting the Iowa City Regina Regals in an Achieve Challenge scrimmage. The Regals recorded the win by a 41-31 score. Regina held an 11-7 lead after the first frame, but took control with a 13-4 run over the final five minutes of the second quarter to take a 26-15 advantage into the half. Out of the locker room, Regina picked up where they left off, scoring the first nine points, to build a 35-16 lead late in the third and led 35-22 going to the fourth. Grant Bender led the way for the Ravens with 14 points, Seth Ours had seven and Bryce Bailey and Josiah Beachy each had four. Drew Streb led Regina with 12. The Ravens get set to open the season Tuesday when they travel to Highland to meet the Huskies.
