The Columbus Wildcat girls’ basketball team moved to 2-0 with a 43-28 win over New London last night. After trailing by a point in a low-scoring first quarter, Columbus exploded on offense to seize a 26-12 halftime advantage that they would not relinquish. Senior Sara Vela led the Wildcats with 18 points, seven rebounds and six steals. Sophomore Ariana Vergana also had a strong night with 14 points, six boards and four assists. Columbus will look to stay unbeaten when they host Lone Tree this evening.
