It was an excellent start to the season for Sigourney-Keota wrestling, as the Cobras cruised to a trio of dual victories in their home triangular last night. SK knocked off Baxter 51-23 before defeating Cardinal 60-12 and Montezuma 54-15.
The night was particularly good to senior Jack Clarahan, who won all three of his bouts at 170 pounds. Freshman Owen Menke made an impressive debut by winning both of his matches at 182 lbs. Sophomores Reanah Utterback and Brady Clark also won a pair of bouts at 113 and 132, respectively. Also getting wins for Sigourney-Keota were senior Dan McLaughlin at 138; senior DJ Hammes at 145; junior Reid Molyneux at 152; and junior Jack Moore at 160. The Cobras will be back on the mat at the 58th Willard Howell Invitational tomorrow in Wapello.
