The Washington Demons looked the part of a great wrestling team Friday night. Washington won four of its five duals and finished second at the Cascade Dual Tournament. The Demons’ only loss was 48-30 to eventual tournament champions MFL MarMac. Washington otherwise won 48-33 over Bellevue; 48-12 versus Clayton Ridge; 45-36 against the host Cascade; and 51-30 over Wahlert of Dubuque.

The tournament proved to be a good time to be part of the Greiner family. Junior Chase Greiner went a perfect five-for-five in his bouts at 160 pounds, while freshman Caden Greiner did the same at 126. Sophomore Jude Carter won four bouts at 138 lbs, while senior Curtis Stender and junior Lane Schrock had a trio of victories each at 220 and 145, respectively. 120-lbs sophomore Aaron Boone was the only other Demon to win multiple head-to-head matchups, while freshman Max Anderson and senior Jack Kleese each won a bout as well. Washington next wrestles in a quadrangular tomorrow evening.
