The Iowa State Dance and Drill Team Association’s State Dance Championships concluded this weekend, with several area teams taking home some hardware.

Lone Tree earned two trophies, one for their third-place finish in Class 1 Jazz with a total score of 343.5. The other came from placing fourth in Class 1 Lyrical, scoring 340 points. Lone tree also competed in Class 1 Pom, finishing seventh.

Wapello received a fourth-place trophy in Class 1 Novelty, earning a total score of 324. They additionally earned a sixth and eighth-place finish in Class 1 Contemporary and Class 3 Pom, respectively.

Mid-Prairie made their way on the podium, placing fourth in Class 4 Jazz with a score of 337. The Golden Hawks also competed in Class 8 Pom, finishing sixth, and Class 5 Hip-Hop, where they placed seventh.

Other area competitors included WACO’s lone team, placing tenth in Class 2 Pom. Highland also finished tenth in their Class 1 Contemporary competition. Mount Pleasant earned seventh place in Class 6 Jazz and eighth in Class 10 Pom. Fairfield captured the seventh spot in Class 9 Pom, and placed eighth in Class 5 Jazz.
