The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawks host the West Liberty Comets Tuesday in Wellman for a River Valley Conference basketball doubleheader. The Golden Hawk girls are 2-2 on the year after a 58-48 loss to Northeast on the road Saturday. For the year, the Hawks are scoring 55 points per game and giving up 50, shooting 33% from the floor, 30% from three and 59% at the line with 39 rebounds, 10 assists, 12 steals and 16 turnovers per night. Individual leaders include Amara Jones at 14 points, five assists and four steals per game. Callie Huber and Landry Pacha lead the Hawks on the glass with six boards per night.

West Liberty is 1-2 on the year, winning their first contest last time out 48-42 over Bellevue. The Comets score 54 points per game and give up 60, shooting 34% from the floor, 20% from deep and 71% at the line to go with 22 rebounds, six assists, and six steals per game. Individual leaders include Kelsey Joens at 26 points, 18 rebounds and three assists per night. Pearson Hall is averaging four steals per game. West Liberty has won seven of the last eight in the series, but Mid-Prairie has won 24 of the last 32 overall including a 40-38 win in January.

The boys contest features a 2-0 Mid-Prairie squad after wins over Benton and Northeast last week. Against the Rebels, the Hawks were a 62-39 winner Saturday. The Hawks score 67 per game and give up 53, shooting 37% from the floor, 29% from downtown, and 62% from the line with 40 rebounds, 16 assists, eight steals and 10 turnovers per night. Individual leaders include Alex Bean at 20 points per night. Beau Flynn is averaging eight boards per game. Camron Pickard leads the Golden Hawk guards with five assists and three steals per night.

West Liberty is 1-2 this year coming off of a 74-39 loss to Bellevue last time out. The Comets are scoring 48 per game and giving up 53, shooting 38% from the floor, 27% from three and 45% at the line with 27 boards, 12 assists, six steals and 15 turnovers per game. Individually, they are paced by Jayce McHugh and Seth Axson at 14 points each per night. Ty Jones averages six boards per game, Ryker Dengler has four assists and McHugh two steals. Mid-Prairie has won 27 of the last 34 in the series including 13 straight in a streak that dates back to 2016. Action starts tonight at 6p.m. At Tim Grady Gymnasium in Wellman.
