Both the WACO Warriors and Lone Tree Lions had strong showings at the Jeremy Fulk Wrestling Classic Saturday in New London. WACO had all 10 of their grapplers medal, and, while Lone Tree finished sixth in the team standings, all three of their wrestlers – sophomore Clemmons Swaink at 120 pounds, sophomore Brady Magruder at 152 and senior Christian Baltazar at 182 – finished third place in their respective weight classes.
The top finish from the Warriors came from three different wrestlers. Junior Jonathan Heather finished second at 285 pounds, as did freshman Levi Bachman at 145 and sophomore Louden Huisenga at 160. Senior Drew Diers was third at 220 lbs, while 126-lbs junior John Mclaughlin, 138-lbs senior Junior Quiroz, 152-lbs Trey Edeker and 182-lbs junior Brian Neal all earned fourth place. Fifth-place finishes for sophomore Braden Stafford at 160 and senior Tigran Bayatyan at 170 rounded out the scoring for WACO, which will wrestle again at a quadrangular Thursday in Mediapolis.
